Decision Making with Artificial Intelligence in Airport Management: A Study on Virtual Airports

Overview

The advancement of technology greatly affects the operations and decision-making of airports. AI is essential for improving passenger flow management, baggage handling operations, aircraft parking
allocations, and crisis mitigation planning, enabling decision-making and adaptability to change. This research study investigates AI’s benefits in airport management, with special attention paid to its use
in emergency response strategy and crisis planning. The study analyzed the operational benefits of artificial intelligence technologies and their impact on crisis management by creating scenarios in a virtual airport. The results indicate that AI provides a major margin of improvement concerning operational efficiency, resilience, and adaptability at airports. Moreover, AI aids in improving long-term strategic forecasts and resource allocation plans. This evidence highlights the need for improved integration of AI into airport management to achieve set efficiency targets and provide better service to customers while improving responses to emergencies.
