This study analyzes the factors that influence the tourism experience at heritage sites,
such as the Temple of Apollo in Didyma, Turkey. Based on a netnographic methodology,
1,631 user reviews from TripAdvisor were collected to extract the basic constructs of visitor
experiences. Positive experiences were underpinned by aesthetic appeal, accessibility,
supporting amenities, cost-effectiveness, and learning opportunities. In contrast, preservation
problems, accessibility problems by different visitors, fewer interpretations, and fewer
facilities represent negative things. Furthermore, by demonstrating UGC’s importance in
comprehending and improving cultural heritage tourism, this study contributes to the body of
literature regarding heritage tourism experiences. Providing actionable insights can help
stakeholders to improve site management and visitor experience.
